Day 10 of The Beachody Ultimate Reset
May 19th, 2012
Woo Hoo, I finally made to the double digits day. I’m so excited. Had a wonderfully huge plate of fruit for breakfast and now I’m off to Earth Fare which is an all natural health food store in this area. They have a great assortment of fresh fruits, veggies and all the nuts & seeds we need for this cleanse. I made my rounds, got everything I needed except Collard Greens & Swiss Chard which to my surprise they are out of that early in the morning. So I made my way around to Lowe’s to pic up some more plant for the garden & my flower pots and then ended up at the grocery store and so glad they had there veggie aisle well stocked ![]()
I’m thinking I got enough nuts & seeds but what do you think?
I think that will do me for awhile. I never thought I would like eating toasted pumpkin seeds even walnuts for the matter but I’m totally addicted. I love nuts anyway but toasted takes the taste to a whole new level and I’m loving it.
After putting everything away it was time for lunch. Since having the Sweet Potato & Red Roasted Pepper Soup for lunch again, I knew what to expect on the prep. So it went quicker this time. I just had to chop everything up for the Greek Salad. I even put the greek dressing in one of those fancy shaker bottles to make it easier. Noe I can just shake it and not have to stir it everyday. It’s also pretty….lol
I totally devoured this, see last night I thought I had vegetable broth but only had chicken & beef, which is a no-no this week & from here on out. So you could use water, which I did last night. But today while at Earth Fare, I found single cup servings of organic veggie broth and jumped all over it. You talk about making the soup taste 100% better. You bet it did. Well now that my belly is full, it’s time to get some sun. It’s beautiful her in TN and I’m going to enjoy it. So after an hr on each side, it’s time to get all this flowers repotted, plants set out in the garden and onions sowed. I love growing my own food. It’s so rewarding. Just look how it’s coming along
I’ve been canning for the past 2 years and I want to do more, I’m getting addicted. My mom never did any when I was growing up, but we did have some that family had given us. But when I met my mom-in-law, man ol man, she cans the daylight of everything she can. Guess you can say she inspired me. But to me not a bad hobby at all.
Well I did get all the plants set out, carried dirt, pots & took down old flowers. Talk about a workout. But with all this work led to a lot of sweating and after about an hour of this, I felt that dreaded hunger pain. I figured this had to do with all the extra work I was doing and since my body must be needing the energy, I had a granny smith apple again. It really hit the spot and gave me the energy I needed to finish. So since I live on a farm and have cows, we have an over abundance of biting flys and the only thing that keeps me from getting eat up is Off.. And let me tell you, I had that stuff sprayed all over me. Even my ears. You see, don’t know what it is about me or my blood that they like but if I miss a spot with off, they will find it. I’ve been bit on my cheek, forehead, nose, you name it. They are relentless! And you could imagine how nasty I felt after working outside with that all over me. So I decided to shower before I took on preparing supper.
I was looking so forward to this one, because I had heard how good the Quinoa Lentil Pilaf was & couldn’t wait to dig in. It was totally new to me, see I basically HATE celery. I mean it could go extent and I would never notice, that’s how much I don’t like it. But I said at the beginning, I’m in this for the long hall and going to at least give everything a try, just so I’ll know what it tastes like. So sauteed up the veggies in some olive oil and spices before adding the broth, Quinoa, Lentils, and water before you let it simmer for about 20 minutes. While that was going on, I put the brocoli in the steamer. So when I was ready to eat, I was pretty hungry but the Pilaf was out of this world delish. Look how pretty it is:
I don’t think I took a breath the whole time I was eating…It was that good. I was really impressed and know this recipe will be added to my list of keepers after this reset is over. After listening to some music, watching some movies with the hubs, it’s time for bed. Very wore out and my back is screaming at me to lay down. I will be up bright and early tomorrow so don’t miss a minute of how Day 11 goes. And if you’ve missed anything so far, go back to Day 9 to get all the details.
